CPAs Keeping Austin Weird at the Trail of Lights Fun Run

Each year, the Austin Trail of Lights hosts an exciting 2.1 mile fun run under the stars and over 2,000,000 twinkling lights, ending with a Finish Line Festival and Expo. This year’s event was on Saturday, December 1 and the Austin CPA Chapter formed a team to combine fitness and fun before the huge crowds come out to the Trail of Lights. The weather was absolutely perfect for this event so it was easy to enjoy the scenery without being too hot or cold. You just never know in December.

The Chapter’s team signed up for the 7:30 wave and it’s really the best way to see the Trail of Lights! There were over 9,000 race registrants, but the Trail of Lights is closed to the public during the Fun Run. We were decked out in our CPAs Count! t-shirts which easily stood out among the gray race shirts most others were wearing. As we jogged by, we received shout outs “CPAs Count!” Free advertising, y’all. Many runners were also in costume!

Our team included Chapter members Bryan Morgan, Jan Keeling, Jeanette Cortinas, Linda Hoops, Phil Staunch, Diane Joiner, Kaira Tanwar and many of their friends and families. We had so much fun!

If you missed out on the fun this year, don’t worry! You can still go see all the lights from December 10-23 and the Austin CPA Chapter will form a team for 2019.

Happy Holidays to all of you!
