The Texas Society of CPAs and its Young CPAs and Emerging Professionals Committee are hosting the statewide CPA Month of Service during November 2018. This month of volunteer service represents the CPA profession’s ongoing commitment to serving the communities where its members live and work. CPA Month of Service is a flexible opportunity for you to help those in your community by participating in a volunteer activity of your choice. Register as an individual, get a group together in your firm or company or volunteer with the Austin CPA Chapter. Commit to several days of volunteering or just a few hours-it’s up to you!

New for 2018: The Lonestar Chapter Challenge! The TSCPA YEP Committee has issued the “Lonestar Chapter Challenge,” a friendly competition among the chapters to encourage participation in CPA Month of Service this November. Participating chapters (including Austin) each contribute $100 to be won by the chapter with the most member participation in chapter-organized CPA Month of Service activities. The winning chapter designates a charity to receive the pot. The chapter with the highest percentage of participating members with respect to the number of members in their chapter area (as of October 31, 2018) will win the Lonestar Chapter Challenge and be recognized in TSCPA communications. Important! Please e-mail Kaira Tanwar your service activities so they’re counted in the Lonestar Chapter Challenge.
