Congratulations to the Austin CPA Chapter Leadership Academy participants for completing the program in August. Recognition of their efforts will be made at the chapter’s Holiday Party in December but in the meantime, here are some comments from a few of graduates.

Lori Halbert, CPA, Faske Lay & Co: The Leadership Academy helped my self-awareness in order to become a better leader.

Angie Hardy, CPA, Epicor Software: I really enjoyed Leadership Academy. It helped me understand myself better – my style, values, strengths, and challenges – as well as opening my eyes to seeing how others around me might differ. It was so refreshing to get new perspective and insight on concepts like organization, prioritization, communication, and goal-setting, that are relevant to personal as well as professional life. Thank you for a valuable learning experience!

Jessica Sajak, Capitol Anesthesiology: The Leadership Academy helped bring awareness to my communication style and also how to induce better performance in a team environment. It served as a professional self-check.

Georgian Whitenight, Clayton & Little Architects: Leadership Academy helped me change the lense through which I view myself, my relationships, and my community. It also helped me examine what role I play in the success of my firm and how I can be a stronger leader. I learned new tools for better communication with our clients and within my work team. I believe my participation in Leadership Academy has strengthened me, my firm and my community.

The Chapter, along with Leadership Austin, will offer this insightful program again next year. If you’re interested in participating, keep your eyes peeled for information starting next spring.
