The TXCPA Austin LEAP (Leaders Emerging in the Accounting Profession) Committee hosted its Fifth Annual Casino Night and Costume Party on Wednesday, October 23. This event was a great way to unwind after a busy tax season and have fun with colleagues!
Special thanks to these wonderful TXCPA Austin members who helped make this event happen: Lara Akinboye, Aarika Anderson, Courtney Cowley and Sarah Burgess-Finley. Their hard work is appreciated by everyone!
Also worthy of recognition are the sponsors of the Casino Night. Without their assistance, this event would not have been possible. The 2019 LEAP Casino Night was generously sponsored by:
All attendees started with a $20,000 token to cash in at the gaming tables: Blackjack, Craps and Roulette. At the end of the evening, all chips were turned back in for prize raffle tickets. Steve Wesling won two AMEX gift cards and Jeremy Myers won one AMEX gift card. There was a separate prize drawing for student members who wished to put all their tickets in for a Wiley CPAexcel Platinum CPA Review Course. Congratulations to David Alsalemi, the recipient of the review course!
Although not everyone dressed in costume, we had a lot of attendees who did! We used a true democracy to vote on the best costume and Bryan Morgan went home with a TXCPA Austin YETI tumbler. His creepy plague doctor costume was really well-done!
TXCPA Austin and the LEAP Committee appreciate everyone who attended and we already look forward to next year’s event!
