First and foremost, I hope everyone is staying safe and doing well.

I am the incoming President of TXCPA Austin. During my year I want to focus on what made me interested in the Chapter many years ago. That focus will begin with Chapter-area students seeking to become CPAs. I want to continue our outreach to local colleges and universities – hopefully in-person when possible – educating students on the benefits of becoming CPAs and answering their questions based on our experiences, through panels and campus visits. If you are interested in this, please reach out to us and we will find a way for you to be involved.

I would also like to continue our current programs supporting candidate members with information and assistance on the steps to becoming a CPA, filing documentation, and study materials available.

We are also doing a $20 in 2020 campaign for scholarship fundraising – be on the lookout for more information. Those resources proved invaluable to me as a student member and helped me get to where I am today.

2020-2021 also falls on a legislative year. With everything going on with PPP and the Cares Act, and who knows what comes next, there will be a lot of involvement at the Chapter and state levels to reach out to our representation to ensure these programs are accounted for properly across the state.

I know there could be some limitations on how we accomplish these goals and I welcome any and all suggestions and help to do so.

I look forward to a great year working with the wonderful and talented volunteers and TXCPA staff.
